FOUND PETS

Pets that are found stray within the City of Lethbridge are impounded and cared for at the Lethbridge Animal Shelter. In the case where a cat or dog has no identification (tags, microchip, or tattoo), or our team cannot reach an owner, the animal will be posted to this page.

Animals found with no identification are held for 5 days, and those found with identification are held for 10 days per local bylaws and the Animal Protection Act of Alberta. When claiming an animal from the shelter, an owner must provide acceptable proof of ownership, and pay the impound fees and any applicable license fees. It is an offence to provide false or misleading information.

If your missing pet appears on this page, contact our office during business hours at 403-320-4099 (option 3).
